Shopian, Dec 3: To finalise the action plan for saturation of Aadhar cards and mandatory biometric updates in all age groups, a meeting of District Level Aadhar Monitoring Committee (DLAMC) was on Saturday held here under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya in presence of Sanjeev Mahajan, Director UIDAI Regional Office Chandigarh.
At the outset, the DC held a threadbare deliberation about a mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric updates of children in the district.
The DC took a detailed review of the statistics of the Aadhar saturation process under different age groups and the status of Aadhar Seva Kendras operating in the district. He was briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the district.
Terming the Aadhaar enrolment a multi-agency process, the DC called upon all concerned departments to launch mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover the whole population under Aadhar enrolment.  He stressed that the progress of the Aadhar enrolment target of children between 0-5 years and 5 -18 years must be achieved cent percent in a time-bound manner.
The Aadhar authentication and Aadhar offline verification including the use of a QR code for Aadhar verification were discussed. Vaishya appealed to the residents to enroll children below 5 years for Aadhar and also to get Mandatory Biometric updates done (MBU) on attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years. He instructed Education and WCD to hold camps for the purpose. He also instructed to organize Aadhar camps in hospitals and vaccination centres to enroll newborns.
